Games we’re talking about this week
This week we join Skari, and Vos. Unfortunately, Los was out due to some dental work, so surprise, totally awesome guest, Ez-Mode Unlocked retired Host TreesLounge, filled his place! We talked about Titanfall, Until Dawn, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Deer God, Grow Home, FF XIII, Super Meat Boy, annnd Pokemon Shuffle!
Vos takes us back to the totally radical 90s to talk about his Past game, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Skari managed to keep her groaning to a minimum as Vos took us into the Future to talk about Destiny, and how he intends to give it a fair chance to see what all the hype is about. We asked Trees about future as well, and he’s going to be diving into Metal Gear Solid V. It sounds epic.
Please give us a positive review on iTunes to enter into our random drawing, which ends 9/30! The prize will be the winners choice of either a Steam code for Terraria, OR a choice of $10 gift credit to either WiiU, PS4, or XBONE.
Trees is having a blast in retirement, he doesn’t feel any rush to play new games, he can take as long as he wants playing what he wants, but he does miss the week to week outlet of having a sounding board, and we miss him, too! In the meantime, he has discovered a new hatred of children’s television programing, namely Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks, a remake of the original. Needless to say, Alvin is now not just a smart aleck, but also a totally disrespectful jackass. Hooray for good role models, kids! He also tells Vos all about Bangin’ in Little Rock after learning he lives in Arkansas, an early 90s show about “gang bangers” in the rough streets of…Arkansas.
We also talk in length about Wrestling and how all of the big wrestling personalities are shifting to Podcasts. Skari gushes over the Mick “Mankind” Foley’s documentary, I Am Santa Claus, and gets starry eyed and wistful at the thought of having a full time Christmas themed room.
Skari talked about her relatively uneventful, but nice, three hour road trip to Owasso, Oklahoma, where she visited such exciting places as the town grocery store and a local used video game shop. Yup. However, the trip up Route 66 was nice, and it was a good way to spend a day. Not to mention, it is kind of a second home to Klaitu, and by proxy, her. She touches on her new obsession with Synthwave, which is heavily influenced by 80s synth and movie soundtracks of that period, and has come back into style with retro inspired soundtracks for movies such as Kung Fury, The Guest, and Drive. She has entirely fallen in love with Gunship and Trevor Something, but to check out a whole youtube channel dedicated to Synthwave artists, check out NewRetroWave.
Finally, Vos gets a new phone. A new dumb phone. For reals, Vos? Dear readers, I am unable to even right now. Let’s just move on. His works accidentally gets set on fire! Well, the dryer has an issue with greasy rags and maybe catches on fire, a little. This results in drastic new practice of using disposable rags…so hopefully they don’t catch fire in the dumpster? Only time will tell!
