Games we’re talking about this week
This week on Future Monkeys Podcast Episode 16, we join Los, Skari, and Jen in talking about…well, pretty much about Fallout 4. However, Los talks a little about how he won’t be playing Destiny, and how he has to finish Assassin’s Creed Syndicate! That’s something, right?
We did not venture into the Past or the Future this week, because…Fallout 4, people, come on! Remember, we have a dedicated Fallout 4 chat going on in Hangouts, let us know if you need an invite!
Finally, we’ve added a new time stamp feature to the bottom of the page that should allow you to skip ahead on your podcast players to certain sections. Let us know how you like it!
There were some technical difficulties with Skari’s mic this week. We’ll figure it out for next week, sorry!
Jen returns this week with updates on the co-worker who was surprising her boyfriend with a PS4. The gift bundle included the Uncharted collection, Destiny, Fallout 4, and some very cool looking hand crafted versions of Nuka-Cola. It all went off without a hitch and the lucky guy couldn’t be happier!
All three of the hosts got into some heavy Twitter and keyboards app discussion. Jen is trying out Talon and gives it a solid “meh” rating. Los is still loving the Fenix twitter app. Skari thinks they’re all crazy and just uses the native Twitter app, because at least that gets updated. However, with some coaching from Los and Jen, she did finally join the rest of the world in downloading a new keyboard for her phone, Swiftkey, that comes complete with built in emojis and super useful functions. Jen also mentions a keyboard app called Minuum, a very minimized keyboard, and everyone agrees it looks super weird.
In Los news, his wife Day and he both updated their phones to a Samsung Note 5. They are in love with their new phones, and he spent the better part of the weekend pimping it out with all of his various apps and doodads. He also bought a steelbook edition of Pixels…No one can really figure out why, but there you have it. He did, however, watch a movie he could actually recommend, Vacation, a continuation of the National Lampoon’s Vacation starring Ed Helms, playing the part of a grown up Rusty. Finally, with the coming of Thanksgiving comes Los’ real favorite holiday, Black Friday, so look forward to hearing about Los’ mad dealing and scheming.
Skari took a trip up to Branson, MO with Klaitu, her in-laws, and her sister-in-law. Branson was beautiful with its fall colors in full swing and crisp fresh air. They visited the Top of the Rock and took a go-cart ride through a cavern, under waterfalls, and across streams. After some gift shopping, they headed down to the Amish Country Store to pick up some delicious goodies, and finally visited a magical Christmas store called Kringles, the name itself making Skari entirely too excited, to shop for Christmas ornaments. Despite the traffic on the main road and being a little squished in the car, it was a pretty magical weekend all around, all thanks to her angelic in-laws.
