Los goes back to the spooooky Past of 2009 to revisit Ghostbusters, and Jen took us into the Future-Past with Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3), while Los is still trying to convince himself to be excited for The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes.

Weekly Update

This week we prepare for Halloween in all it’s spooky glory. Los visits Florida for his Mother-in-law’s birthday…But more importantly he took his family to Disney World for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween! It was a night filled with receiving candy passed out by Disney Employees, a Halloween parade headed by the Headless Horseman, and a song and dance number featuring the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus, along with a whole slew of Disney Villians.

Skari has an utterly uneventful week, so she spends some time talking about a few great horror movies to watch for Halloween. For a scary thrill, she suggested The Babadook, a movie about a woman dealing with the grief of losing her husband, and the stress of taking care of a child alone. Throw in a creepy ass book and you’ve got a real fright fest. Her second pick was less scary, but is a great modern example of the gothic, romantic pre-Twilight Vampire genre, Byzantium. Finally, she recommends a book, Stephen King’s Finders Keepers, the second book in the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. Check ‘em out!

Jen is having a “Fun” work week, filled with pink leg warmers, 80s themed dress days, and a work sponsored concert on Friday by The Reganomics, “midwest’s most exciting 80’s dance and party band”. We all wait with bated breath to hear about that next week. She also pulls the plug on Arcade Block to switch to Indie Box, a subscription service that sends monthly physical copies of collector’s editions indie games. Finally, she talks with Skari about a deep seated yarn addiction, and Skari only encourages the addiction all the more. She’s such an enabler.
